Benjamin W. Morris

Benjamin W. Morris is the Founder and Managing Partner of Montreux Risk Advisory. He is a former federal Special Agent and senior intelligence professional with experience in national security investigations, counterproliferation, sanctions exposure, export controls, cyber-enabled threats, and complex cross-border risk.

During his service with Homeland Security Investigations, the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Morris served in both intelligence and investigative capacities supporting sensitive matters involving foreign procurement networks, financial crime, illicit trade, and geopolitical risk. He was appointed to information security leadership responsibilities for a division-level classified environment, advising senior leadership on compliance, risk posture, inspections, and safeguarding of sensitive systems and data. 

Prior to federal law enforcement service, Mr. Morris held senior intelligence and cyber-threat analysis positions supporting U.S. Government and congressional stakeholders, including work associated with FBI Cyber Division, DEA Special Operations Division, and the United States Senate. His work focused on integrating cyber, financial, and geopolitical reporting into decision-ready intelligence for senior officials. Throughout his career he has engaged in collaborative assignments with foreign partners from around the world including Finland, United Kingdom, Belize, Canada, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia and the Netherlands.

Mr. Morris is an expert level trainer, who designed and delivered training for investigators, analysts, and technical personnel in areas including cyber investigations, beneficial ownership analysis, corporate records exploitation, and enhanced due diligence. His background includes military intelligence service in the Army National Guard and extensive federal training in criminal investigations, intelligence analysis, counterterrorism, export enforcement, cyber, and information security. 

Mr. Morris holds a Master of Business Administration, magna cum laude; Certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge CISL; Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in National Security and Intelligence, Fairmont State University; Associate of Applied Science in Intelligence Operations, Cochise College and a Professional Cert. in Investment Management, University of Geneva.
